Why do I need Biocompatibility testing?
Not every one of us was created alike. Some of us may be allergic to some things while not to others. Although the materials we use in our office were selected because of their low potential to cause an allergic reaction, some patients choose to have a biocompatibility test done just to be sure that the materials we use are agreeable with their body system.
How do I get about getting this test done?
Every one of our patients is offered the opportunity to be tested. We will supply the kit which patient will bring to a lab for blood draw. The lab will have to process the blood before sending it by Fedex overnight to CCR lab. You may have to make an appointment at the lab of your choice. We can also give you the phone number of the lab that we consistently use.
How do I pay for the test?
Our patients pay the lab for the blood draw directly. They will also enclose a check or a credit card number for the cost of the CCR test. In these transactions, patients deal directly with CCR and the lab that does the blood draw; our office is not a party to these.
How do I get the results?
After the blood has been sent and analyzed, CCR will send us the results which we will use to determine the exact materials to be used for a particular patient. Patients will also get a copy of the results.
How long has Dr. Choi used biocompatibility testing?
Ever since he started practice in Florida in 1995. He finds it a useful tool since the aim of healthcare is to try to understand the body as much as possible before any intervention.
